“Let us be ready for love, friendship and dance… all that constitutes the warmth and value of a life.” This brilliant quote is written on the inside cover of this CD. Alioune Mbaye Nder, is known in his native Senegal as the “Prince of Mbalax.“ He is the undisputed number one entertainer of the young Mbalax-generation. After listening to this CD I can understand why. I loved his style of getup and dance type music. Fourteen other musicians play on this CD, ranging from guitar and bass players to violinists, percussionists and saxophonists. Nder’s trademark is his baseball cap, and outstanding voice. He made his initial impact on the world’s musical map as a singer for “Lemzo Diamono,” he then created his own group (Le Setsima) in 1995. Nder has released three cassettes in Senegal. This CD is his greatest hits package and is now available internationally. I enjoyed all the songs on this wonderfully entertaining CD. I hope you had a chance to see them live here in Montreal.
